i think it's true for both men and women.

Because it is the period of maturity where they have done everything in their lives and now searching for a deeper meaning in their existence.

Especially women who are after the menopausal stage where their hormones doesn't affect them at all compared when they have the menstruation stage where their emotions and attitudes fluctuates. Studies say women on this stage are more stable minded and has a lot more focus in their life, which means they now know what they want in their life.
